Through the practice of yoga, I have been able to summon and manifest things I have been struggling to feel for years: A sense of deep grounding. A belief that there is a place in this world for me. Trust that I will be able to weather inevitable losses.

MY STORY

Born and raised in Zimbabwe, I have lived, studied, and worked in France, the UK, Belgium, and South Africa. I’m bilingual in French and graduated with an MA in Creative & Life Writing from Goldsmiths University of London.

In August 2020 I completed my 200 hour Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher Training with The Shala Yoga School, Cape Town. Since graduating, I haven’t stopped educating myself further – most notably with Souldier Yoga and the Accessible Yoga School.

I’m also a graphic designer, an illustrator, and a full-time podcast producer for Radio Workshop.

THE NAME

For the longest time anxiety manifested as a painful knot in my belly. At times it was so sore I had to sit or lie down to wait for it to pass.

While important, talk therapy wasn’t enough to change my behaviour or my quality of life.

I got a taste of what was waiting for me on the other side of anxiety at silent retreats, but it’s been the regular practice of yoga that has helped me to profoundly ease my nervous system and digest some of the indigestible parts of my life.

I’m dedicated to my yoga practice because it helps to keep the knot in my belly slack and mellow, which in turn opens my life up to joy and presence.
