Have you ever felt frustrated by your dog’s endless ability to examine every ridge and tip of a leaf? More than once I’ve given Mac (our dog) a little yank of the leash and hurried him along when I felt he was taking too long.
However, if you look at it through the lens of mindfulness, I should really be in awe of his attention to detail. That’s why today, I decided that every time Mac stopped to snuffle and mark his territory, I’d apply the same level of curiosity to my surroundings.
You don’t have to take photos to give this a try, but by turning it into a little creative expedition, I ended up noticing things I’d never seen before on our regular morning route.
(Full disclosure: I was the one who made Mac stop for the view of Table Mountain!)
